The Hon Khoai Port is one of the most strategic maritime and logistics infrastructure projects in the Mekong Delta region. The project is planned as a deep-water multipurpose port integrated with national defense functions, serving as a key logistics hub for containerized cargo, dry bulk, and liquid bulk commodities, with the capability to accommodate vessels from 150,000 to 250,000 DWT.

In parallel with the port development, major connectivity infrastructure is also being implemented, including the 18-kilometer Hon Khoai sea bridge — expected to become the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam — connecting directly to the Can Tho – Ca Mau Expressway and the Ca Mau – Dat Mui Expressway. Upon completion, the project is expected to establish a seamless logistics corridor from the Mekong Delta to international shipping routes, significantly enhancing regional import-export capacity while strengthening strategic maritime defense in the Southwestern sea area.

To overcome the challenging offshore soft soil conditions, Deep Soil Mixing (CDM) technology has been selected for the foundation treatment works. The construction system is deployed on heavy-duty pontoon barges with capacities ranging from 7,000 to 10,000 tons, fully integrated with CDM drilling equipment, grout mixing stations, and cement storage silos. Cement slurry is pumped directly through the drilling system and mixed deeply with the in-situ soil, forming stabilized columns that improve bearing capacity and foundation stability for the marine structures. Throughout the operation, critical parameters including slurry flow rate, penetration speed, and mixing rotation are strictly monitored and controlled to ensure consistent quality for every CDM column under offshore conditions.

Operating in one of the most demanding offshore construction environments, Hoang Son Fly Ash & Cement JSC is proud to be among the pioneering companies providing specialized cement transportation and pumping solutions for the project. Hoang Son’s SB bulk cement vessels are licensed to operate within 12 nautical miles from shore, enabling direct transportation of cement from Ho Chi Minh City to the offshore construction site and continuous pumping into the CDM system. The fully enclosed transportation and pumping process not only maintains cement quality by minimizing moisture absorption and dust emissions, but also ensures operational safety and stable supply under harsh offshore weather and wave conditions.

For Hoang Son, participating in Vietnam’s key national infrastructure developments is both a responsibility and a source of pride. Every vessel arriving at the project site represents more than just material delivery — it reflects Hoang Son’s logistics capability, operational reliability, and long-term commitment to supporting the sustainable infrastructure development of Vietnam’s next growth era.
